Whichever park you visit make sure you have a pen and book ready to meet the characters. You can purchase autograph books in the park but its a good idea to bring your own and you can decorate it as you wish. It becomes a good keepsake for years to come, looking back on those special character interactions. We have always found dressing the boys in costume of the character they are meeting makes for really extra special experience. Previously we have visit Disney Land Paris where the boys have loved dressing as Peter Pan and Toy Story characters. This time we dressed the boys as the Incredible characters, and we also packed a Woody outfit for Jake and a Buzz outfit for Zack. The moment when we met Woody was magical for Jake as he played with him and asked him where his hat was!
Hollywood Studios is themed as if it is movie studio tour very similar to Universal Studios. The areas of the park are themed as if they are a ‘back lot’ of a movie studio being used for filming. The theme park offers stunt shows, rides and character meet and greets. As soon as you enter the park you are immersed in a Hollywood movie including a replica of Crossroads of the World a Hollywood landmark. From here you will find Hollywood Boulevard with a plethora of shops and eateries.
Toy Story Land
We were very excited to experience the new Toy Story Land. We did find it very busy which is understandable as it is such a popular part of Disney, so we made use of the fast pass system. The most popular ride Slinky Dog we had to book in advance from the UK but we were very happy to get to ride it! We loved meeting the Toy Story characters and the attention to detail was amazing!
One of our most memorable experiences has to be Star Wars Jedi Training. This is very popular so you need to book your slot early as soon as you arrive at the park. You are then given a slot and you have to return at the time where you leave your children for their training before the show starts 30 minutes later. It is suitable for 5 years and over. The boys loved the Star Wars ride and also purchased a customisable light sabre which was so much fun to build with a Cast Member in the Star Wars Merchandise shop.
Our final tip is to take snacks with you! Disney do make really yummy ones but they can be quite expensive. We also asked for cups of ice water at the drink stations which they give you for free instead of buying bottled water which can be very expensive! I hope you have enjoyed our latest blog. Our next Florida Road trip blog post will be on Disney Hotels and Disney Springs and character dining! Done forget to check out our vlog on Hollywood studios now on You Tube
